The maritime industry is a fundamental pillar in the world economy, responsible for 80% of freight transport worldwide. However, all this connectivity depends on highly polluting fuels, which according to Global Maritime Forum, contribute to 3% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and inflict a significant environmental impact on a global level.

As part of the program to strengthen institutional relations with international organizations in the context of investigations into aeronautical and maritime accidents, the Institute for the Prevention and Investigation of Aeronautical and Maritime Accidents (IPIAAM), received on June 20th, a visit from the General Director of the Nigerian Security Investigation Authority (NSIB), Captain Alex Badeh Jr.

The Institute for the Prevention and Investigation of Aeronautical and Maritime Accidents (IPIAAM) is organizing a training session on 'Aeronautical and Maritime Accidents and Incidents' aimed at journalists. The session will be held in a hybrid format on 13th and 14th of May at the Institute's Headquarters in Mindelo. It will be conducted by Mr. Mário Pedro Caetano, a journalist from Lusa – Portuguese News Agency.
