Partial emergency exercise at the Cesária Évora International Airport 2021-12-23

IPIAAM, through the Aeronautical Safety Diretion, represented by the Executive Director, Eng.º Jorge Manuel Rodrigues and by the Aeronautical Safety Investigator, Eng.º Edmir Nero Santiago, participated on November 30, 2021, in the Partial Emergency Exercise called “OPERAÇÃO ALFA”, as an observer, whose objective was to partially test the Emergency Plan of the Airport, with a scenario prepared for the application of response measures to a real emergency situation, without prior notice.

In the Partial Emergency Exercise, in addition to ASA-AICE, responsible for carrying out the exercise, various institutions participated, including the National Police, the Judiciary Police, the 1st Military Region Command, the Coast Guard Command, the CV Handling and the IPIAAM as an observer.

IPIAAM took the opportunity to make an introduction of the novel Authority, responsible for the Prevention and Investigation of Aeronautical and Maritime Accidents, as well as its mission, vision and values. And also to convey to the participants the importance that IPIAAM attaches to the carrying out of similar exercises, aimed at capacity building, with the aim of jointly preventing aeronautical accidents and incidents.
